Third Update 7/2/2011
We have been keeping a close eye on pending shipments into Canada. Several boxes that we shipped prior to the strike have been delivered. We’ll keep you updated as we start seeing a catch-up in deliveries!
Second Update 6/29/2011
All of our shipping into Canada has now resumed as usual. However, Canada Post has announced that they will be working on the backlog of mail and packages that accumulated during the shutdown first. We are expecting delays for several weeks until they get caught up. Please be patient!
The USPS is set to resume service into Canada tomorrow, June 28. Any orders that we have been holding will be shipped either Tuesday or Wednesday. However, Canada Post is handling older packages first and will begin processing these new shipments once their backlog is cleared. This may delay deliveries for a few weeks.
Today, we found out that the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are on strike. As a result, the US Postal Service has suspended service into Canada. We received no warning from the USPS and they still don’t have anything posted on their site. It is our understanding that this suspension will last at least one week, but could continue beyond that.
We are currently unable to ship into Canada by mail. However, we can accept your orders online and they will be held until the end of the strike. Or, if you want, we can ship immediately through USPS Global Express Guaranteed (GXG) service or FedEx. We apologize for this inconvenience.
If you have any questions or would like to place an order to ship GXG or FedEx, call us at 870-735-5033.
